What is Post-Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child 2018-19?

University Grants Commission (UGC) invites applications for Post-Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship
for Single Girl Child 2018-19 from girl students up to the age of 30 who happen to be the only girl child
in their families. The girl students enrolled in the first year of postgraduation can receive a scholarship
 of INR 36,200 per annum. The aim of this scheme is to promote the education of girls and compensate
 direct costs of girl education to all levels.

Who is offering this scholarship ?

This scholarship is being offered by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of
 Human Resource Development, Government of India.

Who can apply for this scholarship ?

To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must:

• Be a girl student up to the age of maximum 30 years
• Be the only child of the family
• Have taken admission in regular, full-time 1st-year Masters Degree in any designated 
• university or a postgraduate college

What are the benefits ?

A total of 3000 scholarships will be awarded to girl students from across the country.
An amount of INR 36,200 per annum will be provided for a duration of 2 years or the full
 duration of the postgraduate course.

Note: No additional grant will be payable to the students.

How can you apply ?

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through following steps -

Step 1: Click on New Student? Register Here.
Step 2: Select the state of domicile, select the name of the scholarship the student is applying for,
select scheme type, write the name, date of birth, mobile number, gender, email ID.
Step 3: Provide the bank details (Bank name, IFS Code, Account Number).
Step 4: The mobile number will be verified and an OTP will be generated.
Step 5: Login using OTP and fill the form.
Step 6: An application ID and password will be generated. Use that for future references.

Note: All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted.
 The applicants are also advised to fill only one application as multiple applications
 will lead to the cancellation of the form.

• Scanned copy of Aadhar Enrollment/Aadhar Card
• Student photograph
• Self-attested copy of previous academic mark sheets
• Fee receipt of current course year

Terms and Conditions

• This scholarship is not applicable for students pursuing postgraduation through Distance education.
• The host institution needs to verify the candidate's online application.
• All the disbursals of the scholarship will be governed by the Aadhar Act, 2016.
•  All the incomplete applications will be summarily rejected.
• Those students who fail to get promoted to the next class/level will forfeit the scholarship.
• UGC will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of this scholarship scheme.
• The students will not be permitted to change the course after the award of scholarship.
